Asian Lettuce Wraps Recipe
1 ½-pounds ground beef
1 onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon minced ginger
1-ounce can water chestnuts, chopped
1/3 cup hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Lettuce – Bibb or romaine
Toppings: shredded carrot, chopped peanuts, toasted sesame seed,
sliced green onion, cilantro
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, stirring to
crumble, until cooked through and no longer pink. Drain excess
grease and set beef aside.
In the same skillet sauté the onion, garlic and ginger for about 3
minutes. Return beef to the pan and add water chestnuts. Stir in hoisin
and soy sauces, and allow mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes.
To serve, place the meat mixture in the lettuce cups and top with your
choice of toppings.
